Edouard Koehn, an independent watchmaking brand based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, has released its latest creation, the Legacy Rattrapante Chronograph. Inspired by a 1900 pocket watch, this timepiece combines classic style with modern functionality.
The brand was revitalized by Bernard F. Fleury, a notable figure in the industry who secured the rights to the Edouard Koehn name in 2015. Fleury's passion for the brand's history led him to develop this exceptional split-second chronograph.
The Legacy Rattrapante features a 40mm stainless steel case with rectangular pushers and a fluted crown. Despite its automatic movement, the watch maintains a slim profile thanks to thoughtful design choices and a box sapphire crystal. It is also water-resistant up to 50 meters.
The cam-operated chronograph movement has been reworked to include the split-seconds function. The dial layout is reminiscent of the original pocket watch, with a 60-minute counter and clear readouts.
The self-winding movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz and has a power reserve of 48 hours. The exhibition case back showcases traditional decorations such as blued screws, Geneva stripes, and perlage.
The Legacy Rattrapante dial features black Breguet numerals against a white grand feu background, with red accents for added vibrancy. The central chronograph seconds hand is activated by the pusher at 2 o'clock, while the split-seconds function is controlled by the coaxial crown pusher.
The watch is presented on a black alligator strap with a light blue alligator lining and secured with a steel folding buckle. It is released in a limited edition of 50 pieces.
If you're looking to add a classic split-second chronograph to your collection, the Edouard Koehn Legacy Rattrapante Chronograph is definitely worth considering.
