In the morning of September 28, one of Krasnodar's symbols—the Floral Clocks—was reopened after six months of renovation. According to the Mayor of the city, Evgeny Naumov, both the clocks themselves and the surrounding area were modernized. The chairman of the City Duma, Vera Galushko, took part in the solemn ceremony.
The Floral Clocks are located on Krasnaya Street, near the "Aurora" cinema, in the heart of the Kuban capital. However, for many years, the area behind them was abandoned. The reconstruction of the location began in late March 2024 and in just six months, both the clocks and the surrounding area were completely revamped.
"In 2007, on City Day, a new attraction was opened for Krasnodar. After 17 years, the Floral Clocks and the surrounding area have been fully modernized. Today, following the tradition, the updated symbol of Krasnodar has returned to the intersection of Krasnaya and Gavrilova streets," wrote Naumov.
As a result, a beautiful park with trees and benches has appeared near the clocks, providing a place to relax. After the renovation, the city's Floral Clocks have become the third largest in Russia in terms of diameter, surpassed only by similar objects in Moscow and St. Petersburg. A photo area with cranes and a small park have also been created near the clocks.
The reconstruction of the clocks themselves took place in Rostov-on-Don. They received a new dial and hands, modern electronic components, and lighting. It was previously reported that Krasnodar celebrates City Day on September 28 and 29. The capital of Kuban will host festive cultural and sports events.
