After successfully passing the mandatory security procedure, the tourist noticed an abandoned item in the bin on the conveyor belt of the X-ray scanner and decided to take it. However, it turned out that the watch belonged to a passenger heading to Moscow.
Just before the gate, the passenger realized that she had forgotten her watch at the security checkpoint. The watch was worth about 40,000 rubles.
The tourist contacted the transport police, who reviewed the surveillance footage and identified a 56-year-old man taking the accessory. The missing item was later found during a search conducted by the airport police. The man has been charged with a criminal offense, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
The transport prosecutor has already issued an accusatory conclusion, and now the incident will be considered in court. Earlier, it was reported that a passenger had their watch stolen at Pulkovo Airport.
