eBay Finds is back with its 100th edition! In this bi-monthly installment, we highlight some of the coolest vintage watches currently listed on eBay. This time, our editor Christoph McNeil has selected a few gems, including two vintage Midos, a classic Seiko chronograph, and a Bulova with beautiful lugs.
The first watch that caught Christoph's eye is a vintage Bulova with a smaller 31mm steel case. It features fancy curved lugs, a scalloped bezel, and a white dial with a deep radial groove pattern. The highlight of this watch is the hi-grade Bulova 10BPAC 23 jewel automatic movement, which is adjusted for heat, cold, and isochronism in three positions. It's a great looking piece with a beautiful movement.
Next up is a vintage Rado Silver Stag with loads of personality. This watch has a square case with a brushed finish, clipped corners, and a polished bezel, giving it a multi-dimensional look. The silver dial features the classic Rado anchor and a vertical day/date window. The caseback has a deeply engraved seahorse logo, and the crown is signed with the Rado anchor logo. The integrated bracelet adds to its 70's vibe and flair.
Now for the vintage Mido Multifort Extra. This watch has a 32mm steel case and a two-tone beige/tan dial. The dial is clean and features small applied steel markers and a fine inner minute track. The steel dagger hands complete the classic late 40s/early 50s look of this watch. Although there is no movement picture, the seller states that it runs and keeps time.
Another intriguing find is a vintage Waltham with a unique design. The 35mm steel case has sharply beveled edges and a wide bezel. The dial has a space-age design, with raised steel triangles and lume dots. The Waltham name and logo are in the upper right quadrant, adding to its unusual look. Like the previous watch, there is no movement picture, but the seller assures that it is running well.
Surprisingly, there are two vintage Mido Mulifort models in this week's selection. This particular watch is housed in a solid rose gold rectangular case, which is a departure from the usual round Multifort models. The two-tone gold dial is superb, giving it an Art Deco look. The slim, blued steel hands add to its elegance. This watch comes with the original box, instructions, guarantee, and price tag, making it a complete set.
Lastly, there is a stunning vintage Seiko 7A28-703A quartz chronograph from 1984. Although quartz movements are not usually favored, the Seiko 7A28 is a legend in its own right. This model features a black dial, a red/blue 'Pepsi' tachymeter bezel, and yellow chrono hands. The unpolished steel case and the integrated bracelet are in excellent condition. It's a wonderful example of a legendary Seiko chronograph.
