Maurice de Mauriac, known for their playful and eccentric watches, has introduced a new timepiece called the Chrono Modern Big Date Deep Blue. This watch is inspired by Swiss wrestler Samir Leuppi, who stands at 6’4” and weighs 320 pounds.
The Chrono Modern Big Date Deep Blue comes in two sizes, large and extra-large. The large version has a 45mm diameter and a lug-to-lug width of 53mm, while the extra-large version has a 48mm diameter and a lug-to-lug width of 56mm. Both sizes feature a titanium case with a blue dial (bronze and steel options are also available).
One of the standout features of this watch is its legibility. It has bold Arabic numerals on the outer minute track and a big date complication at 12 o’clock. The knurled bezel adds a touch of elegance and is a signature design element of Maurice de Mauriac watches.
The movement inside the Chrono Modern Big Date Deep Blue is based on a modified Valjoux (ETA) 7750, which was also used in the brand's 25th Anniversary Chronograph. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters and has a screw-down crown and pushers to prevent accidental activation.
Pricing for the Chrono Modern Big Date Deep Blue starts at 7,900 CHF.
