TAG Heuer celebrates the 70th anniversary of Porsche's victory in the Panamericana race with the limited edition Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana.

For the love of ultimate road racing, TAG Heuer prepared a real treat to mark the start of the 2024 Panamericana. The Carrera Panamericana is a legendary race that has captivated motorsport enthusiasts for decades, and this year brings an exciting new chapter. TAG Heuer has just revealed the limited edition Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Porsche 550 Spyder’s victory in the Panamericana race in 1954.

In conjunction with this year’s race, Porsche and TAG Heuer will also unveil a one-of-a-kind Porsche in Mexico City, further commemorating their shared legacy with the legendary competition. While we eagerly await the car’s presentation in a few days, we’re thrilled to introduce the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana now. The new watch features a sleek Glassbox design.

The 2024 TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Panamericana edition builds on last year’s model but brings a fresh, high-octane twist. Inspired by the winning 1954 Porsche 550 Spyder, this limited edition exudes an adrenaline-fueled, sportier feel. The 42mm stainless steel case remains water-resistant up to 100m, with a domed sapphire Glassbox crystal and exhibition caseback. The dial design perfectly captures the thrill and intensity of the race theme.

Revamped Dial Design

The skeletonized silver dial of the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana mirrors the wheels of the 550 Spyder. It features black shimmery chronograph counters for minutes and hours, with a rounded black flange hosting the minute/second track and the Porsche logo printed between 0 and 10 markers. The rhodium-plated indices resemble the wheels of the 1954 Spyder, creating a striking image.

Tourbillon and Chronograph

A one-minute tourbillon is displayed through an aperture at 6 o’clock, resembling the three-spoked openworked sportscar steering wheel. The dial’s dynamic, race-ready aesthetic is emphasized by yellow lacquered chronograph hands and subdials. The watch is powered by the TH20-09 movement, an evolution of the Heuer 02 calibre, equipped with a tourbillon regulator and operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
